From classic films to game shows and chat show specials, there's plenty to cosy up and catch up with over this period.

We've put together a list of some of the highlights of what you can expect on TV over New Years.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
There's nothing like curling up in front of the TV to watch a classic film, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is one for all the family to enjoy.
It's on ITV on New Year's Eve at 3.20pm.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
There's plenty of action to catch on Channel 4 this New Year's Eve, with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom kicking off at 6.40pm.
The National Lottery's New Year's Eve Big Bash
Comedian and actor, Jason Manford, and TV personality Alesha Dixon team up to celebrate some of 2022's most memorable moments. The pair will be reviewing the highs and lows of pop culture, key sporting moments, and worldwide events that caused a ruckus in the UK this year.
You can catch it on ITV at 8.30pm on New Year's Eve.
The Last Leg of the Year
This super-sized episode sees hosts and celebrities alike wave goodbye (and good riddance) to 2022. If you’re after some laughs to see you into 2023 then join hosts Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker, along with special guests Rylan Clark, Sue Perkins, Ellie Simmonds, Tom Davis, Desiree Burch, Baroness Warsi and Mike Wozniak, in a satirical take on the highs and lows of the year.
It's on Channel 4 at 9pm on New Year's Eve.
The Graham Norton Show: New Year's Eve Show
Joining Graham Norton for his annual New Year’s celebrations are award-winning actress Olivia Colman, rising star Michael Ward, comedy icon Hugh Laurie and Euros-winning England football captain Leah Williamson. Catch the show at 10.25pm on BBC One.
Jonathan Ross' New Year Comedy Special
Leading the celebrations on Jonathan Ross' stand-up special are Bill Bailey, Katherine Ryan, Tom Allen, Judi Love and Babatundé Aléshé. It's on ITV at 10.35pm on New Year's Eve.
Jools' Annual Hootenany 2022/23
Is it really New Year's without Jools Holland? Guest stars include George Ezra, Self Esteem and Cat Burns in a raucous night of festivities that’ll continue into the early hours.
It all kicks off on BBC Two at 11.30pm on New Year's Eve.
The Great New Year Bake Off
Former contestants of the Great British Bake Off reunite for a New Year special. It's on Channel 4 at 7.40pm on New Year's Day.
Taskmaster's New Year Treat
Greg Davies and Alex Horne kick off 2023 with a third New Year Treat episode. Five celebrity guests will be taking part – Amelia Dimoldenberg, presenter Carol Vorderman, Radio 1’s Greg James, Olympian Mo Farah and Rebecca Lucy Taylor (aka Self Esteem). It's on Channel 4 at 9pm on New Year's Day.
Mrs Browns Boys New Year Special
There are love troubles in the air as Boris, Buster and Dermot suspect Cathy’s creepy boyfriend is a vampire. Meanwhile Father Damien is tending to some depressed chickens and Buster convinces Agnes to have a priceless family heirloom valued. Find out what happens on BBC One at 10pm on New Year's Day.
