Cora O' Donavan, the original alias for the catfish, has now been exposed as a Wild Youth fan.
In an interview with Extra.ie, David Whelan, the band's frontman has revealed that the catfish in question regularly attended their concerts.
The frontman shared that the catfish used to post Instagram stories from their concerts, as the scandal takes a new turn, and the plot thickens.
The 'Making Me Dance’ pop band were included in the GAA catfish drama, when it was revealed that the catfish pseudonym ‘Cora’ falsely claimed to be the band's stylist.
In fact the moniker turned out to be one of her many failed aliases.
David revealed to Extra.ie that he found out through messages, he said: “'I got more text messages about the GAA thing than I did about my own song."
He discussed the day he found out the band were dragged into the scandal.
He said: "I woke up and I just had like a million and one messages from all my friends and all my friends' friends."
In a shocking turn of events, he shared how the catfish had in fact attended Wild Youth’s gigs.
The frontman said: “'She (Cora) used to come to our gigs, this is the whole mad thing, okay, we've never met her, we don't know who she is.
"Cora used to write to our Instagram all the time like DM our Instagram,' the leading man added, recalling their countless interactions with the notorious Cora."
He shared how in one of her Instagram stories, ‘Cora’ showed she was at the stage of the Olympia.
David added: “We were playing the Olympia back in 2019, and your one Cora tagged us in one of her stories of her being at the gate, showing the stage.”
David continued that he even had an online interaction with a fan who he believed to be Cora,.
He said he was replying to one of her DM's as he regularly does with fans following a performance.
“I do remember this girl Cora writing in saying like; 'you guys are insane"'.. and I was like 'thank you so much' but like it wasn't Cora, it was crazy catfish Cora.' he said.
The catfish has been linked to 13 fake accounts.
