A new budget friendly variety store has opened on the thriving Smithdown Road.
House Bargains, inspired by the Liverpool-founded chain store with a very similar name, opened on August 22. It's a treasure trove of goodies, with everything you could ever possibly need housed under one roof.
The shop appears relatively small and while it is quite narrow, it stretches far back with tall shelves towering up to the ceiling, stuffed with products. There's brightly coloured toys, dolls and entertaining games sure to delight children of all ages.

There's home décor supplies, from paint and rollers to scrapers, sanding sheets and more. If you're in need of a new shower head, or hose, or shower curtain, House Bargains has plenty of options.
Every aisle is jam packed with products. Hair supplies and haberdashery; electrical essentials from cables and wires to extensions; baby products like bibs, dummies and more; pet products and treats; rugs and homeware accessories; cleaning supplies; DIY products; air fresheners; sweets and drinks, and much more.
It's a shop to get lost in and makes a welcome addition to the bustling Smithdown Road. The popular and historic street is famed for its eclectic mix of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants - but this budget-friendly bargain store is something a little different.
Though it's only been open a matter of days, it's already proving to be a hit in the community. Customer Shahid Ahmad said: "I'm happy with the service, we needed a shop like this on Smithdown Road where we can get everything."
Owner Asadullah Arabzai, 30, is determined to make his mark with the store. Speaking to the Echo, he said: "It's amazing, isn't it? We sell everything. People were shocked when we opened, there's nothing like this on this road.
"Everything is in one place, from beauty to socks to hardware. We've got kids' toys, electrics, and dog food. We have everything in one place."
Asadullah, originally from Afghanistan, moved to Liverpool in 2011. He said: "I love it, I'm Scouse you know - I feel half Afghani and half Liverpool."
It was a tricky journey to get the store to open. Asadullah added: "It was hard to open my own business, when you start everything costs you a lot - for example, you say you're going to spend £50 on something but it's double. Whatever you think something will be, there's always more, and you have to bring changes unexpectedly and be open to make changes."
The businessman is keen to make his mark on Smithdown Road and, hopefully, beyond. He added: "My hope is if the business runs good, I can open more around Liverpool. My second hope is to open in Crosby and over the water. I hope it goes well so it will be like Home Bargains - it's a similar name but it's slightly different and it's a different colour.
"It's a local shop for local people. It's my first business and I'm trying my best so I hope the local people will support me. Hopefully they'll pop in and see something they like."
House Bargains is based on Smithdown Road, Liverpool.
