Thousands of incidents of fly-tipping were reported in Leeds during the pandemic costing the city hundreds of pounds in clean-up costs - and many offenders are still getting away with it altogether.
The latest figures from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) reveal 16,783 incidents of fly-tipping were recorded across the city in 2020/21 - the equivalent of nearly two every hour.
However, the number is down from 26,079 reports in 2019/20, and 32,411 cases the year before that - bucking a national trend that has seen incidents rise.
