Tesla has submitted plans to open a new store in Patchway.
The electric vehicle company hopes to replace DIY store Wickes on Centaurus Road. Plans submitted to South Gloucestershire Council include a Tesla car showroom, servicing centre, and eight super charging bays.
A new store would join the existing showroom and charging bays at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, and service centre in Westbury-on-Trym. According to planning documents, the development 'is likely' to create 30-40 jobs.

Tesla says the existing car parking layout will be "largely retained" with 77 parking spaces provided. Eight super charging bays are proposed along the southern boundary of the car park, while a further seven electric vehicle charging bays are proposed closer to the showroom building, along with a cycle shelter.
Planning documents state: "The development proposals consist of a change in use of an existing commercial building on the site (formally a Wickes DIY store) to a car showroom and servicing centre to be occupied by Tesla.
"The proposals will retain much of the existing site configuration with the existing building in the eastern section of the site being converted to the show room and the service yard to the north of the building being retained, albeit with the internal configuration changing to suit the new development."
It follows rumours that Elon Musk had been eyeing up Somerset as a location for a Tesla 'gigafactory.'
The celebrity entrepreneur had reportedly been looking at a gigantic new "smart campus" near Bridgwater - called Gravity - as a potential base for his electric vehicle company as it continues global expansion.
