A new burger joint and a huge brewery tap room featuring a bulging menu of bao buns is all set to open at Circle Square. The development, off Oxford Road on the site of the old BBC building, will welcome its new outlets this month.
Leeds brewery North Brewing Co will be moving into a new bar unit, and will boast 24 draught lines for the beer heads. As well as its own beers, the brewery has worked with the likes of Cloudwater. Track and Pomona Island from Manchester, so will be hosting a varied range of guest ales too.
As well as beers, there will be a cocktail menu, featuring the taproom’s own negroni, as well as a curated range of wines. North Taproom will seat 100 people, a further 30 standing and also feature an outside terrace area overlooking the green event space at Circle Square.

“Our new bar in Manchester marks a huge milestone for all of us at North,” said brewery co-founder John Gyngell. “We’ve actually been looking for a Manchester site for the last 25 years and have come very close a number of times!
“Many of the North team have lived, worked or studied in Manchester, and we make a habit of visiting as regularly as possible. The hospitality scene in Manchester has provided tonnes of inspiration over the years, and we can’t wait to bring North to the city.”
Food-wise, it will be hooking up with Leeds brand Little Bao Boy, who will be serving up Asian street food ‘from early until late’.
It’s not the only new outlet to be moving in. A new burger spot is called Boo, which already has branches in Leicester, Loughborough and Nottingham, as well as new restaurants coming to Birmingham, Derby and Preston, will be moving in too.
It will offer a range of smashed burgers, chicken burgers, plant-based burgers, wings and shakes, as well as a range of breakfast brioche rolls. It joins a host of new outlets on the impressive development, including Hello Oriental, Federal, Canvas and chicken experts Bird of Prey.
