New sighting of escaped rapper as police manhunt continues across London

Police have released new CCTV images of a drill rapper who escaped custody twice in one week.

Violent robber Daniel Boakye continues to mock authorities with arrogant social media posts as a manhunt for him continues across London.

The 21-year-old, who goes by the stage name DSAVV, uploaded a second video to Instagram on Saturday in which he rapped the line, “Catch me if you can.”

In a new image taken on a bus, Boakye is seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.

He had escaped from prison guards at West Middlesex University Hospital on February 10 and was recaptured by Metropolitan Police officers the following day before going on the run again on Sunday last week.

Boakye was jailed for six years and five months in 2023 for being part of a robbery gang who held victims at knifepoint to get their phone passcodes in order to steal a total of £115,000 of cryptocurrency, as well as using bank details to pay for taxis and top-up cards. He is due to be deported to Ghana.

Last week he posed in front of a TV news alert about his escape, holding what appeared to be a joint and rapping: “I just broke out of jail like Modie, f*** the government fam they’re phoneys.

“Prison break, s*** fam - f*** these police. On the roads, I’m a legend like Toby, but I can’t go wrong like Kobe.”

Modie refers to a character from the Netflix TV series Top Boy. He also brags about being “fresh home”, champagne and cannabis.

Scotland Yard said: “Officers searching for a 21-year-old man who absconded from Lewisham Hospital are releasing a new image, as they continue to appeal to the public for information.

“Daniel Boakye, 21 was in police custody in hospital when he absconded at around 3.05pm on Sunday, February 15.

“Officers gave chase but could not detain Boayke and he left the area.”

Boakye, of Enfield, north London, is understood to have links to the OFB or Original Farm Boys - a gang based on the Broadwater Farm estate in Tottenham.

The Home Office said his deportation is being “actively pursued”.

Anyone with information about Boakye’s whereabouts is asked to contact police on 999, quoting CAD4005/15FEB, or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
