Amazon has rebranded one of its services to allow TV users to watch thousands of programmes and films for free. Their IMDB TV will now be called Freevee and will go live on Fire TV devices, smartphones an tablets from Wednesday, April 27.
It means TV lovers will be able access blockbuster movies and popular boxsets all for free. It comes as Amazon pledge to dramatically grow the number of episodes and films available to watch on the service at no cost, with an increase promise of 70 per cent this year.
Freevee, which started out as IMDB TV, began in the US with the brand linked to the industry-standard film database, which is owned by Amazon. It launched in the UK last year, with a number of shows, including Alex Rider, based on the best-selling books by British author Anthony Horowitz, available exclusively on the ad-supported app.
