A new series of The Traitors is landing on BBC iPlayer. It comes after TV critic Scott Bryan revealed the BBC had got the rights to the popular show on Thursday, 12 January.
However, there is a twist. He said: The BBC have confirmed that they have acquired #TheTraitors US. The whole series will arrive as as a boxset on @BBCiPlayer tomorrow (13th)."
Birmingham Live reports the director of iPlayer and Channels at the BBC confirmed the news. Dan McGolpin added: “Following the huge success of The Traitors, which has been streamed more than 28 million times on BBC iPlayer and was the talk of the nation over the festive period, we’re delighted to give BBC viewers the chance to watch the brand new US series within hours of its release in America.

"Hosted by the brilliant Alan Cumming and filmed at the same location as the UK series, it’s a new year treat for those seeking out more treachery - all is about to be revealed on BBC iPlayer, BBC Three and BBC One." The show will be available on BBC One as double-bills on Wednesday nights at 10.40pm for five weeks from the 25 January.
The Traitors US will be available on BBC Three across three weeks as follows: Tues 24 Jan, Weds 25 Jan and Thurs 26 Jan, then Mon 30 Jan, Tues 31 Jan, Weds 1 Feb and Thurs 2nd Feb, and then Mon 6 Feb, Tues 7 Feb and Weds 8 Feb. In the series, the 20 contestants work together on exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000.
But hidden amongst the Faithful contestants are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves, all the while remaining undetected. It comes after the runaway success of the UK series, which was presented by Claudia Winkleman.
The Traitors US will be available from Friday, January 13 on BBC iPlayer, and will then be available on BBC One as double-bills on Wednesday nights at 10.40pm for five weeks from the January 25.
