A former property office manager, who was made redundant from her role, has now launched her own letting agency.
Louise Todd Property Management specialises in property and rented accommodation in Dundee and the surrounding areas.
She had worked in the property sector for more than 10 years, most recently at managerial level, and had always dreamt of opening her own letting agency. After being made redundant in late 2022, Todd approached Business Gateway, accessing support from a business adviser.
She received advice on company regulations and funding, as well as on developing a marketing strategy, which involved creating social media content to help develop the business’ digital presence.
Since launching, Todd has secured large portfolios that ensure properties are not being left to sit empty. She is also working in collaboration with other agencies to ensure as many properties as possible in Dundee and the surrounding areas are filled.
“Although I had lots of experience in property, I had never run my own business before, which was daunting,“ commented Todd.
Scott Geddes, Business Gateway adviser, said: “Anyone starting a new business will have obstacles to contend with at the beginning, rather than shy away from them, Louise faced these challenges head-on and adapted her mindset, which was really inspiring to see.“
Business Gateway is delivered by local authorities throughout Scotland.
It works in collaboration with organisations including Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, to help deliver the best advice and support to Scottish businesses.
