New Rangers transfer update as two remaining areas of priority emerge

(Image: PA)

Rangers are set to sign South Korean winger Kim Min-su in a £8.5 million deal.

The 20-year-old is in advanced discussions after the club agreed to pay his release clause at Girona. Min-su is expected to travel to Glasgow soon, with talks continuing on Monday.

The Rangers Review reports that a medical is yet to be scheduled, but it is anticipated he played his last game for Girona in their defeat to Cordoba on Friday.

Min-su is Rangers' most advanced winger target. The club is also in talks with Brighton for Amario Cozier-Duberry, though this is not as advanced. Rangers are keen to bring in another forward and assess their situation before making further moves.

The club has been on the lookout for a forward since their move for PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech fell through due to medical issues. Efforts are being made to ensure Min-su completes his tests in the coming days.

Rangers are also seeking a number 9 following Youssef Chermiti’s ACL injury. They have been in talks with Portland Timbers for Kevin Kelsy, while another target is under serious consideration.

Rayan Fofana from Lens, who was on the shortlist of potential recruits, has fallen down the pecking order.

Rangers are also working on several departures, with Nico Raskin attracting interest from England, Italy, and Spain. The club is willing to let the Belgian midfielder leave if their valuation is met.

Connor Barron and Lyall Cameron are also expected to move on. Barron has interest from Italy and Spain, while clubs in League One and Poland are monitoring Cameron.

John Souttar has options in MLS and remains a target for clubs in England, while Clinton Nsiala and Ross McCausland are also free to leave. Nsiala has interest from clubs in France and Cyprus.

A winger and centre-forward are now the priority positions following the arrivals of James Penrice and Kosta Nedeljkovic.
