Fitness fanatics will have a new muscle Mecca to head to in Manchester city centre — after PureGym opened its latest location.
The new PureGym is the company’s 21st in Greater Manchester, and is opening on First Street from next week. The 24-hour facility is opening from 12 noon on Friday, December 16.
Some 12,500 sq ft in size, it contains 220 pieces of ‘state-of-the-art’ exercise equipment, a ‘huge range’ of classes, and personal trainers available for hire.

“We are very excited to be expanding our presence in Manchester, a city where our low-cost, high-quality fitness facilities have remained incredibly popular for over 10 years,” a company spokesperson said. “The brand-new gym will offer members 24/7 access to first class fitness facilities to use at their leisure to help achieve their individual fitness goals.
“We can’t wait to welcome new members to PureGym Manchester First Street from 16 December – look out for our opening offer.”
PureGym first opened in the city in 2009, and says it has enjoyed ‘sustained demand for its affordable, flexible fitness proposition ever since among local and student communities alike’.
There will be 12 jobs created with the opening of the gym, and potential applicants can see the new roles on their website.
