A new Poundland opening at Avonmeads Retail Park has an opening date and it will be welcoming customers by the end of the month. The budget retailer will be opening a huge new store in Bristol near to a branch that it closed down two years ago.
The new shop in St Philips Causeway will be "substantially bigger" than the previous one.
At more than 12,000 square feet, it is much larger than a typical Poundland store and the fashion section PEP&CO will be twice the size of the store that shut in 2020, Poundland said.

The new outlet, which was previously occupied by clothing retailer Outfit, will employ more than 20 full and part-time staff. The branch will open on Saturday, April 23.
Poundland’s retail and transformation director, Austin Cooke, said: “It’s great to be back at Bristol Avonmeads with one of our biggest and best stores where customers will be able to enjoy a wide range of items at our amazing value and do more of their shopping in a single trip.
“Bristol is one of the UK’s great cities and one where we’ve built up a tremendous relationship with our customers. Avonmeads is a great addition to our network of stores in the city and across the South West.”
As well as selling womenswear, menswear and kidswear, the new Poundland store will also have a dedicated PEP&CO home department featuring the latest 2022 ranges including kitchen storage options, faux plants, bathroom accessories and soft furnishings.
"Customers will also see the amazing value they have come to expect across categories including food and drink, home and pet, entertainment and stationer," a spokesperson for Poundland added.
"[The store] has been designed to offer the widest ranges possible and to give customers a great shopping experience."
Poundland already has a number of stores in Bristol, including Bristol Union Gate, Bristol Galleries, 82-92 Horsefair, Bedminster, Knowle and Filton.
The new store is based at Unit 4A, Bristol Avonmeads Retail Park, St Philips Causeway.
