The start of the 2022/23 new financial year on April 6 brought with it an increase of 3.1% to most benefits delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), including Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
PIP is a benefit designed to help people over the age of 16 and under State Pension age - now 66 for men and women - with the extra daily costs of living with a long-term illness, physical or mental health condition or a disability.
The DWP will award successful claimants between £24.45 and £156.90 per week to help with the additional costs of daily living and outdoor mobility needs.
