New photos show how work is progressing on new £8m HQ for Browns Distribution

Construction is officially underway on a brand new HQ for Browns Distribution.

Last year, the haulage firm announced that it was building a brand new £8 million headquarters, just 300 metres away from its current base in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.

Now new photographs show how work is progressing on the new facility, after steel was put in place to form the frame of the 75,000 sq ft warehouse and two-storey office space.

A spokesman for Browns Distribution said: "Our new site will be a huge step up from our current premises, boasting much more distribution and warehousing capacity, meaning we can shop and store even more pallets.

"Plus, the new office space will feature state-of-the-art IT systems and staff training facilities."

The new, multi-million facility – which is expected to be complete by the end of August – comes after Browns Distribution reported how freight volume and demand for palletised collections and deliveries 'sky rocketed' over the past few years.

Up to 15 new jobs are expected to be created on the back of the project.

Managing director David Brown, previously told BusinessLive: "We have designed every last detail of this facility to make sure we are operating as efficiently as possible.

"It will be considerably larger than our current site so we will need to grow into the building – and that's exactly what we intend to do.

"This project has been two years in the planning so it's really exciting to see that progress is finally being made."
