New owners for Birmingham dental practice

A husband and wife team have acquired their first dental practice in Birmingham. Bhupinder and Harpreet Chana have purchased Walmley Dental Practice in Sutton Coldfield after its previous owners retired following 25 years of operations.

Mrs Chana has worked at the practice since 2015 when she joined as a foundation dentist while her husband has also worked in dentistry for nine years.

The practice has four surgeries and employs 16 members of staff, with plans to grow this following the acquisition. Mrs Chana will also take on the role of sole educational supervisor for the practice's trainee dentists.

She said: "I've loved working at Walmley Dental for the past seven years and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to buy the business.

"I want to make sure we keep the family values instilled by the previous owners while looking at how we can grow the business further."

The pair were supported in the undisclosed deal with funding from Lloyds Bank.

Relationship manager Andy Matthews added: "Walmley Dental is highly regarded in the local area and I'm sure Harpreet and Bhupinder will build on this, particularly as Harpreet is already familiar with the practice.

"We're pleased to have helped them to get this deal over the line and will continue to support them as they embark on this exciting new venture."
