New Outlander cast video introduces the actors playing the Hunters in season 7

Outlander fans have been given a glimpse of two of the new actors who will be joining the cast this season – and a little bit more about the actors they will be playing. Much to the delight of fans of the books, siblings the Hunters will be crossing paths with our Outlander favourites and actors Izzy Meikle-Small and Joey Phillips were announced earlier on this year to play them.

Joining Canadian actor Charles Vandervaart, who will be playing Jamie Fraser's (Sam Heughan) secret son William Ransom, the pair are set to take on the roles of Rachel Hunter and Dr. Denzell 'Denny' Hunter.

The official Outlander account has given fans a little glimpse of what they can expect from the pair, with a short clip showing them chatting about their new roles.

Posting on social media, the official Outlander account wrote: "Meet the fabulous pair playing the Hunters: Izzy Meikle-Small and Joey Phillips."

Confirming that they are brother and sister, Izzy added that 'Denny' is a doctor and that the siblings are both quakers.

Speaking about how they join the show, Joey said: "Denzell has a real urge to join the Continental Army and serve as a surgeon because he believes that liberty is a gift from god."

Izzy joked that her character is a little more conflicted as she's just brought along for the ride.

When alluding to their costumes, Joey joked that he is delighted by the shirt he gets to wear, as it's reminiscent of the one Thackery Binx wears in the film 'Hocus Pocus' which he loved growing up.

And the rest of the interview (which you can watch above) reveals how they knew about Outlander before joining the cast.

One fan said: "New characters are so fun and these two are gems in the storyline..they are very likeable characters."

While another added: "His Thackeray moment! I love it. Hocus Pocus is my favourite Halloween movie. Looking forward to these two!"

A third said: "Welcome to the Outlander family! Pretty much how I imagined them and love their enthusiasm. Looking forward to the Hunters’ storylines."

And it wasn't just the fans, showrunner Maril Davis also gushed: "Can’t wait for everyone to see Izzy and Joey in action. You will love them!"
