A man who rammed a car into a group of people celebrating the New Year in New Orleans, killing 10 people and leaving at least 35 others injured, has been identified as a 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a US Army veteran from Texas.

The incident happened on the famous Bourbon Street in the US city’s French Quarter around 3.15am local time on Wednesday.
