The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published five new online ‘easy-read’ guides to help people understand the complete process for making a new claim for Personal Independence Payment (PIP). Adult Disability Payment (ADP) has replaced PIP for new claimants living in Scotland, however, the guides contain handy information that could act as a checklist for anyone making a new claim for the devolved payment.
Social Security Scotland delivers ADP and offers some essential information on making a new application, along with a sample claims form which contains details about each question, you can find out more about this here.
The guides from DWP are available on GOV.UK and cover what PIP is, who should claim, supporting information you need to send, assessments - in person and over the phone or video call and what happens after the decision is made.
