A new KFC is set to open its doors in a Nottinghamshire town 'any day now'. The fast food giant is expected to begin serving customers in London Road, Retford later in April.
It comes as part of the chain's plans to open 500 restaurants across the country, reports Lincolnshire Live. After reported delays, a spokesperson for KFC confirmed that site will open "any day now."
The spokesperson said: "We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to open a shiny new restaurant in Retford – bringing 35 new jobs and delicious fried chicken to the local area. We’ll be opening any day now and will be offering dine-in, takeaway and drive-thru. And watch this space for home delivery service.”
It will be the first in the town since the previous restaurant, which was based in the marketplace, closed permanently. Until it opens, the nearest KFC for Retford residents is in Markham Moor at the A1 North services. The fast-food giant has also reportedly been eyeing up building up a drive-thru in the neighbouring town of Worksop.
Retford's newest fried chicken restaurant will be situated next to the largest Asda on the Move in the county, which opened on March 18. An in-store Cooplands bakery is also being developed inside the convenience store, which will also feature two exterior charging points for electric vehicles.
