The personal trainer behind a bid to convert an old car Nottinghamshire showroom into a gym has said the space will be for people who don't like exercise. Plans to open the gym at 2a Victoria Road, Netherfield, were rubber stamped by Gedling Borough Council on September 30.
Tom Buckle said the space would be used for training classes called TBH Bootcamps. "We specialise in boot camps, getting people who don't like exercise. We get them to lose weight and have a bit of fun. We get people coming in from all over who never usually do exercise," explained the 24-year-old from Mapperley Park.
"It's very exciting. We're just looking for an established place where people know where to go. We're the first one of its kind in Netherfield." Mr Buckle, originally from Suffolk, has been running a boot camp in Woodthorpe for almost two years.

He said an average of 400 people attend his classes a month, and hopes more will join once the gym opens at the start of next year. "I'm extremely excited because if everything goes to plan and we can crack one, it's about time Netherfield got a very good group training facility for people who don't enjoy training," Mr Buckle continued.
"The main complaints I hear is that they feel uncomfortable in gyms, they don't feel welcome. People want to come to a place where they feel welcome and can work hard. We help people lose so much weight. We help them feel good again. It doesn't matter who you are, you turn up, leave your ego at the door and enjoy yourself.
TBH Bootcamps will be open to people of all ages and backgrounds, but Mr Buckle said the most common age is 30 to 55. He expects to open the gym to the public in January 2023.
People in Netherfield have previously spoken of their excitement for the plans.
