The Broadwalk Shopping Centre in Bristol will get a new name under fresh plans for its rebuild, Bristol Live can reveal.
Developers said they have gone back to the drawing board and will come up with new plans for the shopping centre site in the heart of Knowle - but won’t say what they are until a big reveal at the end of January.
But they have said the updated proposals involve calling the scheme ‘Redcatch Quarter’, after the road and park next door.

The shopping centre site includes library and offices above, a multi-storey car park and snooker hall behind.
It changed ownership back in 2018, with the new owners announcing major plans to knock a lot of the buildings down, keep the shopping centre open, and build apartments on top, overlooking the park.
In March 2019, council planners gave permission for those plans, which were for a block of 420 flats, new stores and a revamped shopping centre, and an end for the troubled multi-storey car park and snooker hall there.
But nothing has happened since, and last year, Broadwalk regulars told Bristol Live what they wanted to see happen with the site. Now, the developers, rebranded as the Redcatch Development Partnership, say they are ready to put forward new proposals for Broadwalk, and it will involve a new name.
The new plans will be presented at an online consultation event on Thursday, January 27 between 6pm and 7.30pm, with members of the public welcome to ask questions.
A new website has been launched - although it doesn’t show the new plans yet, and the developers said they didn’t want to reveal them to Bristol Live ahead of next week’s meeting.
A spokesperson for Redcatch Development Partnership said the plans were an "exciting new vision" for the Broadwalk Shopping Centre, and initial plans have been drawn up to create a "new, vibrant destination and mixed-use neighbourhood at the heart of Knowle".
“As part of the updated proposals, the scheme will be renamed the Redcatch Quarter,” she added.
The team behind the project said they are working to submit a new outline planning application to Bristol City Council in the spring, and want to hear the local community’s views and suggestions.

The spokesperson added: “The aim is to create a new destination for the local community which better connects to Redcatch Park, enhances the leisure, retail and entertainment offer, delivers high-quality public realm and much needed new homes for all.
“The Redcatch Quarter represents a unique opportunity for South Bristol, and we are keen to hear what local people think."
Plans will be presented at an online consultation event on Thursday, January 27, between 6pm and 7.30pm.
Members of the public are invited to attend to view the plans, provide feedback and ask any questions they may have.
A dedicated project website www.redcatchquarter.com has been launched where a recording of the event will be uploaded for people who are unable to attend at that time.
A hard copy of the presentation will be available to request via the project telephone number 0117 441 4004, the spokesperson added.
