Aston Villa are ‘preparing’ to make a £30m offer for Joe Gomez, according to the Daily Star.

The ECHO understands that Liverpool are keen to extend his deal, which expires in the summer of 2024 but are aware that Gomez would like more first-team action.
Having signed from Charlton in 2015, the defender has made 142 appearances for the Reds. And Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is aiming to prize Gomez away from Anfield as he looks to bolster his options in defence ahead of the new season.
The lure of first-team football will be of interest to Gomez, who is keen to add to his 11 England caps, the last of which came in October 2020.
