April 7

Daniel Caesar - NEVER ENOUGH

Canadian R&B maestro Daniel Caesar returns with his first album since 2019, teasing the project with a new single, Valentina, ahead of release. The Grammy Award-winning singer also dropped singles Do You Like Me and Let Me Go earlier this year in the run up to is highly anticipated album. If his singles are anything to go by, expect more experimental genre-bending R&B from one of the genre’s brightest stars.

Ellie Goulding - Higher Than Heaven (Deluxe)

Ellie Goulding’s hotly anticipated Higher Than Heaven album is finally arriving April 7, a few months after its initial scheduled release. In that time. Goulding has managed to promte the project with sold out shows at London’s KOKO, as well as release hit-track Miracle with Calvin Harris, a nostalgic trance anthem. All this gives Goulding a thrust of momentum for her new project, which she has been promoting since last year with five singles, including Easy Lover, Let It Die, and Like a Saviour.

Yaeji - With A Hammer

New York singer and DJ Yaeji has been a pioneer in the house music and hip-hop scene, lacing her tracks with both English and Korean vocals. Following her breakthrough with track Passionfruit and follow-up Raingurl from her EP2 project, Yaeji sets upon her most ambitious project yet, with buzz surrounding her debut album. The hotly-tipped DJ has released two tracks ahead of her debut LP, Done (Let’s Get It) and For Granted.

NLE Choppa - Cottonwood 2

American rapper NLE Choppa is one of hip-hop’s most promising young talents, and the follow up to his to his 2020 Top Shotta album looks to build on the excitement currently surrounding him. He has promoted the new project with recently released singles Ain’t Gonna Answer, Mo Up Front and Do It Again, but it’s his currently trending 2022 single Slut Me Out that has seen the the rapper rapidly rise into the top 20 of the US Spotify charts, ahead of the albums release.

Avelino - God Save The Streets

British rapper Avelino has been releasing tracks since 2013, establishing his name firmly in the UK rap scene. So, it comes as a surprise that God Save The Streets marks the artists debut album, a decade after the Tottenham rapper released his first mixtape Underdog Music. In taking time to perfect his first LP, God Save The Streets, Avelino has one of the most anticipated ALBUM drops of the year in UK rap, promoting it with tracks Vex, a collaboration with grime legend Ghetts and Backroad Gee, and God Save The Streets PT. 2, a drill-inspired banger.

Feist - Multitudes

Canadian indie-pop singer-songwriter Feist has been in public consciousness since her breakthrough in 2007, with an Apple Pod nano advert went viral (whatever viral looked like back then) and sent her track 1234 soaring up music charts worldwide, with her critically acclaimed The Reminder receiving a Grammy nomination. Since then, her unique folk-pop sound has allowed her to maintain her popularity over a decade later. Her new project, Multitudes, a twelve track LP, marks her sixth album, and the hype still remains to see what the Canadian has up her sleeve.

Metallica - 72 Seasons

American heavy metal legends Metallica have little left to prove from their illustrious career, with the nine-time Grammy Award winners already one of the best selling artists of all time, with 125 million albums sold worldwide. Still, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers can still reach greater heights with their new album, 72 Seasons — their first since 2016. The group have released four tracks in anticipation of their project, including the albums title track. UK fans can expect to raise their excitement levels too, as the band will be headlining Download Festival for a double slot to mark the festival’s 20th anniverasary, and we can expect many of their new tracks to feature in their setlist as well as a bunch of fan favourites.

Pet Shop Boys - Lost

London’s iconic Pet Shop Boys have cemented themselves as the most successful duo in the history of UK music, as per the Guinness Book of World Records, with four UK number ones including their hit West End Girls (which also topped the US Billboard Hot 100). The group are set to add to their successful four-decade career with their fifteenth studio album Lost, which the band have promoted with their new single Living in the past.

April 21

ALMA - Time Machine

Finnish singer-songwriter ALMA first made waves in the UK with her Top 20 hit Chasing Highs, making a name for herself with a list of collaborations including Swedish singer Tove Lo and British pop star Charli XCX. ALMA, who released her debut album Have U Seen Her? in 2020, is set to follow up on her success with her new project, which she has supported with four tracks so far, including Hey Mom Hey Dad and Tell Mama.

Everything But The Girl - Fuse

English duo Everything but the Girl had a successful run in the music industry following their formation in 1982, with subsequent hits including their cover of Crazy Horse’s I Don’t Want to Talk About It, which hit number three in the UK Singles Chart, and 199’s Missing, which would also hit number three in the UK, and number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts. The band took a break in 2000, which would last 22 years, before reforming last year. News of the bands new project will be music to the ears of their fans, who haven’t had a new album since 1999.

Silver Moth - Black Bay

Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite excited music fans by forming a new seven-piece band, Sliver Moth, earlier in the year. The band shared their first single Mother Tongue in January, and followed up with their second single The Etheral, released last month. The earthy acoustic sounds of their two tracks provide an insight into what will be the groups first album together, and it will be interesting to hear the material they have been working on in full.

Tiësto - DRIVE

Dutch DJ Tiësto is one of the biggest names in dance music, with multiple hits under his belt since his first active work all the way back in 1994. He has gone on to become a Grammy Award winner, with five UK top ten tracks to his name, including his hit 10:35 with Canadian singer Tate McRae, which is currently peaking at number eight on the charts ahead of his album release. DRIVE marks the EDM pioneer’s eighth studio album, and the DJ has released a string of tracks already in the run-up to the album, including 10:35 and Lay Low.

April 28

Bebe Rexha - Bebe

Multi-talented American singer Bebe Rexha has been one of the most in-demand pop stars of late, due to her impeccable vocals and strong writing abilities that has allowed her to compose hits for some of the biggest artists in the industry — including songwriting credits on Eminem and Rihanna’s number one The Monster, which would go on to win a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Performance. While creating hits for big names, she has proven herself in her own right, with global smash hits including Meant To Be with Florida Georgia Line and recent UK chart-topper I’m Good (Blue) with David Guetta, which hit number one in 22 countries. With such huge success coming before the albums release, all eyes will be on Rexha to see if she can repeat her recent feats.

Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good!

British singer-songwriter Jessie Ware has maintained a steady buzz in the UK since her debut album in 2012, due to her signature soulful vocals that have propelled her tracks Tough Love and Say You Love Me into the top 40 of the UK Singles Chart. The London-born singer prepares to release her fifth studio album, supported by sassy disco-inspired single Pearls — which serves as a first look at what’s in store for Ware’s new material.
