A woman who'd joked about going into labour while her partner's football team were playing couldn't believe it when she did just that - meaning he ended up watching the match, while simultaneously supporting her through her labour pains.
Mum-of-one Amber shared a vid to TiKTok showing her boyfriend watching a Liverpool game in the delivery suite, laughing that this takes "football isn't just football to a new level."
Amber could be seen lying back on the hospital bed with a look of mock annoyance, while her other half sat on the end, taking a puff of gas and air as he watched the "important game".
In the video, which has clocked up 3.7 million views and counting, amused Amber said: "When I joked about going into labour whilst his football team were playing the entire pregnancy and I actually did so this was our set-up."
Although Amber didn't appear too fussed, some followers weren't happy at all about the set-up, which one person described as their "worst nightmare." Another shuddered that if their partner tried something similar, "they'd be single".
Hitting back at the criticism, Amber defended her boyfriend, clarifying that he had been there comforting her throughout and that she had been the one to set the football up for him.
She continued: "I was making TikToks, we are super chill, and when the time came to actually scream and push he was right by my side holding my hair back, hand, had the fan in front of me, everything I needed. It wasn't that deep."
Others agreed that the boyfriend hadn't actually done anything wrong, and that, in the early stages of pregnancy at least, it can be good for the father-to-be to have something to focus on.
One person commented: "Some of these comments. My partner was the same, labour can be lonnggg and a waiting game! I have an amazing partner and he's such a good dad too."
Another wrote: "The important thing is he was there for you when you needed him. People are just pressed."
