New mum Holly Hagan shares candid snap wearing 'nappy' as she talks 'baby blues'

Holly Hagan has posted a candid photo of herself wearing a 'nappy' in a very honest new mum post weeks after giving birth.

The Geordie Shore star, 30, welcomed son Alpha-Jax last week, but says she's been left 'overwhelmed' by the experience in an honest admission.

Wearing absorbent postpartum underwear, holding her bundle of joy, Holly shared: "1 day old his little newborn scrunch! This was the morning after our first night at home, both in nappies, running off 2 days no sleep as I had to check he was breathing every second...

"I broke down as we went to bed for the first time with him as I was just so overwhelmed. A million “what ifs” running through my head...

Her candid post was met with a flurry of support from her showbiz pals (@hollyhaganblyth/Instagram)

"A mix of anxiety and the baby blues which hit me hard for the first few nights. I felt homesick that’s the only way I can really describe it! Those feelings soon passed and 11 days in now feeling so much less anxiety!..."

Despite still "having the odd breakdown every now and then", the reality star stressed she wouldn't change being a mum, which she said was the "hardest but best job in the world."

Holly's candid post was met with a flurry of support from her showbiz pals, including Geordie Shore co-star Charlotte Crosby, who gave birth to daughter Alba Jean last year.

She wrote: "Holly words can’t describe how seeing you as a mother makes me feel!..

"Your nailing mama life I couldn’t be more proud of watching you on this journey. I adore alpha jax and i bursting to come and see him [sic]', while fellow Geordie Shore alum Sophie Kasaei penned: 'I’m so proud of you holly".

Love Island's Shaughna Phillips, who welcomed daughter Lucia two months ago, also replied, saying: "'You deserve this so much mama".

Holly revealed her tot's unusual name last week, which is a tribute to his dad Jacob Blyth.

Sharing a pic of the newborn, she wrote in the caption: "Alpha-Jax Blyth" as she told fans what she had decided to call the little one.

Holly's pals flooded the comments with well wishes, including queen of clean Sophie Hinchliffe, who wrote: "Congratulations to you both. He is just so so beautiful."

The star confirmed she had given birth in an Instagram post on Monday evening, shortly after going into labour in Greater Manchester.

Sharing a post, Holly wrote: "Here's here! We're doing amazing. Little hospital update will be on my blog tomorrow morning.

"Huge thank you to the incredible staff at Wythenshawe Hospital. I couldn't have wished for a better birth experience. Just enjoying our little baby bubble."
