An application has been submitted to build a multi-use games area in a Cardiff suburb.
If approved, the proposed game area would be built in Llanrumney, on Ball Road, next to the Grade II* listed Llanrumney Hall.
It would provide new sporting opportunities to the local community such as netball, basketball and five-a-side football.

The proposed development will cover an area of 764 metres and will include stone gabion structures surrounding and supporting the pitch.
The site applied for is currently a field of public open space and woodland, to the south of the hall.
Llanrumney Hall is a Grade II* listed building and a former Elizabethan mansion, which has transformed from a derelict building to a thriving community centre.
It was originally built in 1450 and is said to be the birth place of the famous Captain Henry Morgan, now known as the face of Captain Morgan's spiced rum.
It has also been a hotel, a children's remand home and a public house.
The hall, which sits on 26 acres of land in the middle of a housing estate, fell into a severe state of disrepair until securing sponsorship from the Welsh Government to save and transform the hall.
As of spring 2019, the hall has been open as a multi-purpose community hub which aims to 'mitigate and prevent poverty' in East Cardiff.
The hall has recently opened up a community music recording studio, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and are now looking to create the multi-use games area to 'provide enhanced sporting opportunities for the local community'.
