New monkeypox cases in England, Wales and Scotland as UK total hits 524

The monkeypox outbreak in the UK has reached 524 cases. There have been 52 new cases reported today in England, and one in Wales and one in Scotland.

The UK Health Security Agency said there are currently 504 confirmed cases in England. There have been 13 in Scotland, two in Northern Ireland and five in Wales.

Anyone can get monkeypox, particularly if you have had close contact, including sexual contact, with an individual with symptoms. Currently most cases have been in men who are gay, bisexual or have sex with men.
