New Mini Stadium inaugurated at SATS chief village Allipuram

HYDERABAD: A new mini stadium, built by Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy with a cost of Rs 1.29 crore at his native village Allipuram in Mahabubnagar district, was inaugurated by sports minister V Srinivas Goud on Wednesday.

Speaking about the stadium, SATS chief, “The mini stadium has all the facilities to conduct sports events in 12 various disciplines including badminton, table tennis, chess, carrom, weightlifting, boxing and outdoor games like basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, athletics and yoga.

The indoor stadium, which includes four wooden courts installed with a cost of Rs 30 lakhs, can accommodate four badminton courts. The indoor courts also have a lighting facility installed with a cost of Rs 5 lakhs and 24-hour power supply. The stadium also has seating arrangements for players and children.

Two latest Stag table tennis tables were also provided at the Indoor stadium, the SATS chief said.

NATCO firm has contributed Rs 10 lakhs for providing facilities for weightlifting in the stadium, he said. “There is space to build a boxing arena inside the stadium. MP J Santosh Kumar has agreed to sponsor Rs 20 lakhs for providing facilities for the boxing sport. We will soon provide the facilities for boxing and weightlifting also, he added.

Basketball courts (with a cost of Rs 15 lakhs) and volleyball courts were already made available for players, he added. There are facilities for kabaddi, kho-kho and modern gym, SATS chief said.
