- Warner Bros has announced that Jamie Dornan will portray Aragorn, also known as Strider, in the upcoming film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
- The cast also includes Leo Woodall as Halvard and Kate Winslet as Marigol, alongside returning actors Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, and Lee Pace as Thranduil.
- Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in previous films, will direct the movie and reprise his role as the title character using motion capture technology.
- Peter Jackson, director of the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, is producing the film, with a screenplay co-written by Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, writers of the original trilogy, alongside Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou.
- Set between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring, the film follows Aragorn's quest to find Gollum before he can reveal the One Ring's location to Sauron, and is slated for release on 17 December 2027.
