New Look shoppers have been ditching their jeans in favour of a denim maxi skirt, dubbing it as the ultimate alternative.
It comes as nineties fashion has seen a huge resurgence in recent months, with the long denim skirt being top of the list of wardrobe must-haves.
Fashion fans have been rushing to snap up the £33 skirt after it came back in stock last week, having been sold out for weeks. Social media users took to the Instagram comments section to ask when New Look would be stocking the skirt - and their prayers have finally been answered. But as expected, it's selling fast.
The best-seller is the Blue Denim Split Hem Maxi Skirt, which forms part of a curated edit from comic Emily Atack. Already, some of the sizes are out of stock, with sizes 10 to 22 available to shop.

The near-floor-length skirt comes in a light-wash denim fabric, and makes for an exciting alternative to jeans. Paired with cami tops and sandals, it will see you through all your spring and summer plans.
The skirt costs £32.99. Already, the trendy skirt has racked up 33 five star reviews, with the lowest rating coming in the form of a two star review. The dissatisfied shopper praised the skirt for its ‘lovely quality’ but said it was ‘too long’ as she is petite.
Others have absolutely loved the skirt, though, saying it’s ‘so flattering’ and the ‘perfect length’.
One said: “I bought this to wear for afternoon drinks and lunch. Paired it up with a black high neck bodysuit, knee high heeled cowboy boots and black leather biker jacket and it looked insane! So comfortable, excellent quality of the denim and was so flattering. Honestly, one of my favourite items to wear. Oozing confidence.”
Another added: “Been looking at these for a while and finally got hold of one! Perfect length, fits snug on the waist and is not too tight around the thigh area.”
With a third commenting: “Fabulous fit and well made I’ve had lots of compliments since wearing it. It's very versatile and I can dress up or down.”
Some even say they're wearing the skirt instead of jeans, writing: "This is the new jeans! Fits perfect can wear with sandals, heels or trainers. True to size." Another said: "Fits so well, true to size , great alternative to jeans, very flattering."
This style of maxi is absolutely everywhere at the moment, proving it’s a wardrobe essential for 2023. Stradivarius has their own version for under £30, with Mango also stocking similar for £35.99. Alternatively, ASOS has dozens of styles from various retailers ranging from £20 to £120.
