EA Sports has unveiled the official logo for its brand-new football game series, EA Sports FC, the will replace its long-running FIFA series since the publisher and FIFA parted ways.
It was confirmed last year that EA and FIFA were no more after calling an end to their 30-year partnership, with FIFA 23 being the final title in EA's FIFA series. Shortly after, EA revealed its plans for a new football game – EA Sports FC – which would be released following FIFA 23, starting with this year's instalment likely called EA FC 24.
We're only in April, so based on past FIFA titles, it's unusual to know anything about the next instalment in the series this far in advance. But, EA has today confirmed the game's official logo as well as teasing more updates for this summer.
Dubbed by EA as a "platform to create, innovate and grow new football experiences", EA Sports FC is set to be more than just a game, with FC claiming "EA SPORTS FC will be a symbol for the sport, a symbol of innovation and change."
EA Sports FC official logo and future details
EA Sports FC, abbreviated to just 'FC', was always going to have one major problem after the end of EA's relationship with FIFA, and that's creating its own brand without the lucrative FIFA title and logo. Without the FIFA logo, EA needs a way to make FC stand out, and it's attempted this with a new logo.
EA claims that its new logo takes inspiration directly from one of the most dominant shapes in football culture – triangles. From the way a triangle is used in passing techniques and set plays, to the iconic player indicator symbol that appears above every athlete in every EA FIFA game, the triangle is an important part of footballing DNA, and that's why EA opted for this design.
The logo is also set to appear in more than 100 matches across the biggest footballing leagues in the coming days, including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, WSL, NWSL, CONMEBOL and more. So, keep your eyes peeled for the new FC branding.
Wlodyka also revealed that we should receive further updates on FC soon. “This is where the story of EA SPORTS FC begins," said the SVP & GM of EA Sports FC. "We’re building on 30 years of leadership and history creating experiences that bring the global football community together, and continuing to take it into a fan-first future.
"We’re energized to show our fans more about the future in July”.
