The Government has finally released details of its plan to “level up” the UK, setting out 12 "missions" to make sure everyone in the UK has the same chances in life regardless of where they are born.
"Levelling Up" was a key promise in Boris Johnson's 2019 election campaingn, appearing twice in Boris Johnson's first speech as Prime Minister on the steps of no. 10 Downing Street.
But use of the much-mentioned slogan has since drawn criticism over a lack of substance, with repeated calls for ministers to explain what it means.
