The Clifton Triangle Retail Park has been boosted thanks to a new vets which has opened at the site. Ruddington Vets has moved from its previous base in the Rushcliffe village, where it had been located for 28 years, in a £1million investment which has also created new jobs.
Managers say the new building, at the retail park in Green Lane, will allow the practice to serve more clients and expand the range of clinical services offered to pets in the area. Two new vets and a clinical director have been recruited, forming part of the 17-strong team at the practice.
Esther Wroughton, regional director for the Ruddington Veterinary Practice, said: “We had outgrown our existing practice on Shaw Street. It was becoming difficult for us to offer the highest level of service and quality of animal care that we are accustomed to.

"So this is an exciting move for us. Clifton is a fantastic new site with a superb range of facilities. It’ll mean that we’ll be able to look after many patients right here and it’ll enable us to grow the number of patients we see.”
Announcing details of the relocation, managers said the building would include four consulting rooms, along with two operating theatres with the latest veterinary equipment. Other features include an isolation ward, in-house laboratory, dental suite and digital X-ray facilities.
With a reception area with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, there are separate dog and cat hospital wards with plans for walk-in kennels for larger dog breeds. The vets has a separate entrance to provide access and parking with disabled access factored in.
Nottingham City Council gave permission for a change of use of a unit at the site to a veterinary practice on August 15. The application was put forward by CVS Group plc, which provides veterinary services in the UK, Netherlands and Republic of Ireland.
Work on the Clifton Triangle project started in July 2017 with the demolition of Fairham House site, which was previously owned by the city council. The vets adds to existing businesses at the retail park which include B&M, Lidl and The Butchers Shop.
