Bristol isn't short of incredible eating out hot spots and Wapping Wharf is a haven for foodies. Filled with independent, local eateries hungry visitors are spoilt for choice.
And if the options weren't diverse enough, now a new Italian has opened its doors. Promising to bring 'authentic, home-cooked Italian food to Bristol', Magari is the latest shipping container restaurant at Cargo 2 behind M-Shed that specialises in fresh pasta made on site every day.
Magari prides itself in serving vegan, vegetarian and meat-based Italian pasta dishes that focus on using the best ingredients from the South West. Alongside pasta, diners can enjoy wine served in carafes and jugs of refreshing ‘spritz’, all served with small aperitivo snacks designed to be shared with friends and family.

Magari is run by friends and co-owners Gilda Lombardi and Delphi Ross. Gilda came to Bristol from Italy two years ago and the two met during lockdown when Delphi was giving Gilda’s children English lessons before they started school.
Gilda said: “Food is a huge part of our culture in Italy and because of my background I was really born into cooking so opening Magari feels natural to me. We want to bring together and celebrate Italy’s dynamic food culture and the amazing local produce that is grown and made in the south west.”
Delphi added: “For Italians, food is a communal activity that brings everyone together with love and laughter and we want a night out at Magari to have that same effect. Wapping Wharf has such a great community atmosphere that it makes perfect sense for us to open here.”
Magari opened on Wednesday. In an Instagram post, it said "WE ARE OPEN. Alright you lovely lot. We (quietly) opened today and have had our first lot of lovely customers. We would love to see you guys on Friday for our soft lil launch. Try and get down early to avoid disappointment. We’ll have fresh pasta and not one, not two, but THREE types of spritz."
As well as preview of the menu which shares the dishes on offer, Magari's Instagram page is a haven for its produce, showing off fresh pasta, desserts and its sharing spritz. The bio reads: " Authentically Italian. Sustainably British. Fresh pasta made every morning. Our aim is to celebrate Italy’s food culture and the south west’s produce."
