New Information Expected In Gilgo Beach Serial Killings Case

Accused Long Island serial killer Rex A. Heuermann appears during a hearing in Suffolk County Superior Court

Prosecutors are set to reveal new details in the investigation of Rex Heuermann, the suspect in the Gilgo Beach serial killings case. The victim known as 'Asian Doe' will be a focal point of the upcoming announcement by Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney.

Heuermann, a former New York architect, was arrested in July 2023 and charged with the murder of six women from Long Island over a span of three decades. The case gained attention after the discovery of the bodies of four women, dubbed the 'Gilgo Four,' in 2010.

Heuermann has maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty to all murder charges. His defense attorney, Michael Brown, stated that Heuermann is prepared to fight the allegations against him.

The investigation has uncovered disturbing evidence, including a detailed planning document allegedly created by Heuermann in 2000. This document outlined strategies for murder, disposal of bodies, and avoiding detection, shedding light on the meticulous planning involved in the crimes.

Heuermann has been charged in connection with the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Costello, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Jessica Taylor, and Sandra Costilla. The charges were brought forth based on new evidence uncovered during the ongoing investigation.

The upcoming news conference is expected to provide further insight into the case and the developments surrounding Heuermann's trial. The community remains vigilant as justice is sought for the victims of these heinous crimes.
