A new poster for House of the Dragon season 3 has an ominous parallel to George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood book... and it's not looking good for our girl Rhaenyra.
Warning: Major spoilers for the House of the Dragon source material ahead!
In the poster, which can be viewed below, Rhaenyra is sitting on the Iron Throne in a way that parallels artwork from Fire and Blood. Given that the Dance of Dragons is well underway and knowing what happens to Rhaenyera at the end of the book's civil war... It's making us a little nervous. She does eventually win King's Landing, but her reign only lasts for six months.
As there are no happy endings in Martin's world, Rhaenyra loses the throne and is eaten by a dragon at the hands of her brother Aegon II while her son, the future King Aegon III (not to be confused with Aegon V who we meet in a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) is forced to watch. Aegon III goes on to be known as Aegon the Unlucky, Aegon the Unhappy, or simply, the Broken King, and the whole mom being burned and then eaten alive thing certainly doesn't help.

House of the Dragon is set to end with season 4, giving us a firm end to the Dance of the Dragons. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, however, which follows a different (and less corrupt, for now) Targaryen, is ongoing and expected to last for more than just a few seasons.
House of the Dragon returns this June 21 in the US and June 22 in the UK. In the meantime, check out our guide to all the most exciting upcoming TV shows to fill out your watchlist.
