New home for Birmingham architecture practice

A Birmingham architecture practice is moving to a new home. Pinnegar Hayward Design has been operating for more than 30 years and runs architectural and project management services.

The company is moving from Powell Street, in the city's historic Jewellery Quarter, to a 5,047 sq ft space on the second floor of The Media Works in nearby Carver Street.

The new premises have an open-plan office, meeting rooms, kitchen and car parking.

Jewellery Quarter property agency Siddall Jones arranged the ten-year letting deal on behalf of landlord Jones and Palmer for a rent of £60,500 a year.

Edward Siddall-Jones, managing director at Siddall Jones, said: "This is a large letting for the Jewellery Quarter market which is somewhat constrained by the historic aesthetic of the buildings.

"We are seeing an increase in demand for larger floor plates within the area but very few buildings are able to offer the opportunity for tenants to take 5,000 sq ft plus. We are thrilled to welcome Pinnegar Hayward Design to Media Works.

"This is another example of the current trend of tenants seeking a flight to quality and taking on more sustainable buildings."

Law firms Hawkins Hatton and Higgs acted on the deal.
