A new state-of-the-art healthcare centre could be built in south Leeds, as the clock ticks down on the future of a nearby GP practice.
Health inspectors have threatened to declare Cottingley Surgery “unsafe” because of the “dingy” building’s limitations, a planning meeting was told on Thursday. As a result, surgery bosses have set their sights on building a new complex a short walk away from the current site, next to the Cottingley Vale shopping precinct.
If the plan is realised, the new site could feature a pharmacy, hospital services for outpatients, physiotherapists, council services and a cafe, as well as the new surgery.
