Harmony Montgomery’s father has murder conviction overturned by court

The Supreme Court threw out the second-degree murder conviction, ruling that the underlying assault charge should have been prosecuted separately - (AP/Facebook)

The New Hampshire Supreme Court on Thursday overturned the murder conviction of a man accused of killing his 5-year-old daughter and moving her body for months before allegedly disposing of it.

Although her remains have never been found, investigators believe Harmony Montgomery was killed in 2019, nearly two years before she was reported missing. Her father, Adam Montgomery, received a prison sentence of at least 56 years in 2024 after being convicted of second-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, falsifying evidence, witness tampering and assault.
