Glasgow's west end will welcome a new pub this spring in the form of The Bakehouse.
Greene King recently lodged an application for the site of 510 Great Western Road, which is currently occupied by popular Mexican taqueria and bar El Jefe's.
As we reported on Glasgow Live earlier, El Jefe's, which has received rave reviews since opening at the end of 2021, will soon be on the move to a new location at the end of March, freeing up the Kelvinbridge space for The Bakehouse.
According to the submitted plans, which are viewable on the Glasgow City Council website, here, the new food and drink spot - formerly home to The Crafty Pig - will feature a main bar area with adjacent lounge areas, while the 'pub kitchen' will have craft beers, fine wines and coffee on offer for customers.
When asked for further detail about the new venue, Greene King told Glasgow Live: "We can’t wait to open The Bakehouse on the popular Great Western Road under our managed pubs estate.
"We’ve got some exciting plans for the pub and we look forward to sharing an update on the refurbishment in due course.
"The Bakehouse will replace the existing El Jefe’s site when they move on in March 2022."
Another food and drink venue to add to your list for this spring!
