The New York Giants needed a new kicker for their Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Christmas Day, so they signed veteran Mason Crosby to fill the role. Crosby, the longtime Green Bay Packers kicker, has not kicked for a team that wasn’t the Packers in a game until this week.
With so many numbers taken this late into the season, Crosby chose a weird one with New York: No. 21. Not only is this not a typical kicker’s number, but it used to be worn by longtime Giants running back Tiki Barber.
When Crosby debuted his new number by nailing a 52-yard field goal vs. the Eagles, NFL fans were all kinds of confused by the sight.
Mason Crosby connects on a 52-yard FG just a few days after signing with the Giants 🙌

Crosby used to wear No. 2 with the Packers, but that number currently belongs to backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor on the Giants. The 39-year-old played 16 straight seasons in Green Bay, making 395 field goals, before the team moved on in the offseason.
