Recent developments in the investigation of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump have shed light on crucial pieces of evidence that have been recovered by federal authorities.
Law enforcement sources have confirmed that a ladder believed to have been purchased by the gunman, along with a backpack suspected to belong to him, have been located and are now in the possession of federal authorities.
The discovery of the ladder was made by a diligent workman who found it abandoned on the side of the road near the rally grounds. After observing the ladder in that location for several days, the worker decided to alert authorities about its presence.
Alongside the ladder, the workman also found a backpack that authorities believe is linked to the gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks.
Furthermore, investigators examining Crooks' belongings uncovered a drone among his possessions. It is speculated that Crooks may have used the drone for reconnaissance purposes on the day of the Trump rally, potentially scouting the rooftops of nearby buildings to plan his attack.
The working theory suggests that the drone could have provided Crooks with valuable information on the layout of the area, aiding him in selecting the vantage point from which he fired shots towards the podium where Trump was injured.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are expected to closely analyze these newly discovered items for any clues that could help reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the shooting and track the movements of the suspect.
