The New England Patriots have made a significant coaching change by hiring Mike Vrabel as their next head coach. This decision was announced on Sunday morning, following the dismissal of Jerod Mayo after a single season in charge. Mayo was let go by Patriots owner Robert Kraft after the team finished with a 4-13 record.
Several candidates were considered for the head coaching position, including Byron Leftwich, Pep Hamilton, and Ben Johnson. However, Vrabel emerged as the preferred choice due to his strong ties to the franchise and successful coaching tenure with the Tennessee Titans.
