As Summer Game Fest continues amid rumors of a Nintendo Direct coming next Tuesday, we're expecting to finally get that Elden Ring on Switch 2 release date… oh wait, never mind, they just tweeted it out.
Over on the Elden Ring Twitter account, a post confirms that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026, finally bringing the beloved RPG to the portable console after it was literally the first third-party game featured in the big Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.
The Tarnished Pack DLC adds some minor new content, including armor and starting classes, will be released for all platforms on the same day.
The Tarnished Edition was delayed until 2026 for "performance adjustments," after reports that the port was real rough came out of the Gamescom 2025 demo.

And while it's coming out later than expected, Bandai Namco is finally delivering in a couple months. Our more recent hands-on impression found that the port is feeling a lot better, so hopefully it'll end up a great way to play the RPG– at least on a handheld that is.
And while the game won't be getting a reissue on other platforms as far as we know, the account also confirmed that the additional content that is being added to the game as part of the Tarnished Edition on Switch 2 will also be available to purchase on other platforms the same day as 'The Tarnished Pack DLC.' This DLC will include the two new starting classes which includes the heavy knight, who probably has the best starting stats in the game. Plus there some new armor sets and a nice bit of horse armor for those Elder Scrolls enthusiasts out there.
