The Port of Leith Distillery shared a new video on its official Twitter account, showcasing an amazing view from the 9th floor of its new facility coming up in Leith.
Every visitor of the huge £12million vertical distillery will be able to enjoy the tempting view of the city and the Forth from its bar mezzanine when the place opens up later in 2022.
The video offers a glimpse of what visitors of the bar will see while having a wee drum, including Royal Yacht Britannia right by the distillery's building, Leith Docks and the city with some of its most-recognisable landmarks towering over the landscape. Further away, there is Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat on the one side and wast views of the River Forth on the other.
The Twitter post from the distillery's account reads: "We've finished pouring concrete on all floors, so today we finally got to climb right to the top. This is the 9th floor - bar mezzanine. Such a stunning day in Leith."
The towering Leith building will feature a top floor double-height whisky bar, with views to Edinburgh Castle, two copper stills and the capacity to produce up to million bottles of single malt a year.
Located beside Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, this will be the first single-malt distillery to be built in Edinburgh in over 100 years, with its founders hoping to put Leith back on the whisky map.
The project is the brainchild of local entrepreneurs and childhood friends Ian Stirling and Patrick Fletcher, who share a mutual passion for whisky.
"We have always been passionate about whisky, and it's been a long-held dream for us to create an amazing, modern Scotch whisky distillery in our home city.
"It began ten years ago as a mad idea over a dram when we were working together in London, and it grew from there," Stirling said.
The project is funded by a range of international private investors and whisky fans, including two mystery drinks industry CEOs.
