Plans to turn an abandoned Edinburgh warehouse into a swimming pool in the south west of the capital are set to be refused.
The disused unit at Bankhead Crossway had previously been earmarked by The Turtle Tots to transform the warehouse into a swimming pool for children and infants.
With the application set to be put in front of councillors on Wednesday detailing a strong local support, planning officers are maintaining the plans should be refused as the development would undermine the provision of business and industry units.

In November 2022 Edinburgh Live reported how the established toddler swim school had identified the building as the ideal location to open a new facility, and dozens of locals have shown support by pointing out that it would be a welcomed addition to the Sighthill area.
The planning application proposed redeveloping the warehouse at 6 Bankhead Crossway South into a 12.6 x 5.4 metre pool to train babies and children.
“The applicants currently run a very successful business providing swimming coaching to parents and toddlers and to parents with primary age children,” planning background papers stated.
The proposed pool would open from 9.30am-9.30pm on weekdays and would open from 8.45am-5pm on the weekends.
However, it looks like a new building may need scouting out as a copy of the agenda ahead of Wednesday's Development Management Sub-Committee meeting states: "A total of 26 representations were received in support of the application, specifically in relation to the use being beneficial, and some weight has been given to these comments.
"However, these comments do not outweigh the provisions of the development plan and there are no other material planning considerations which outweigh this conclusion."
Among reasons for the potential objection is the fact that it would reportedly result in the loss of a significant business and industry unit and the site would not be easily accessible by public transport and is likely to generate journeys which are primarily car-borne.
Despite a refusal decision being recommended by planning officer, a detailed discussion is set to take place where councillors may yet grant permission for the application to go ahead.
