New districts will spur development in Andhra Pradesh: Deputy speaker Kona Raghupati

GUNTUR: Stating that the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to create new districts will spur the development in Andhra Pradesh, assembly deputy speaker Kona Raghupati has observed that Bapatla will become most developed district within no time.

He said that agriculture sector in Vemuru, marine products in Repalle, Bapatla and Chirala and industrial corridor in Addanki will put the newly created Bapatla district on the top of the development list. Along with district collector Vivek Yadav, Raghupati reviewed various developmental activities initiated in the constituency with the officials at HRD institute in the town on Thursday.

Addressing the meeting, deputy speaker said that Bapatla has connectivity to the coast, national highways and railways which would easily attract the investors.

He said that government medical college granted to Bapatla would also be launched within 2 years. He added that chief minister’s initiatives Rythu Bharosa Kendra, Bulk Milk Chilling Centres have already become a model in the country, adding that the governance was taken to the door steps of the people with the ward and village secretariat.

He further said that no one had anticipated the launch of so many offices right in the neighbourhood of every colony and village. He asked the officials to expedite the projects sanctioned to the constituency.

District collector Vivek Yadav directed the officials to set their focus on completion of Jagananna housing colonies. He assured that the issue of leveling of housing would be resolved shortly. He said that about 99.19 percent of the people in the eligible adults were fully vaccinated and health department should focus on completing the target for 15-18 years age bracket.

Yadav said that they have granted permissions for construction of various government buildings in the division and the officials should ensure their timely completion.

He added that they were releasing the funds for housing project beneficiaries from time to time and the officials should encourage the remaining beneficiaries to take up the work. He said that they were keeping the stocks of sand, steel and cement close to the housing layouts.

Later, district collector Vivek Yadav, Rural district SP Vishal Gunni and deputy speaker Kona Raghupati inspected the buildings in APHRD where the new collectorate would be set up. They also visited Sri Bhavanarayana Swamy temple in the town and offered prayers.

Joint collector (ward secretariats and development) Rajakumari, joint collector (housing) Anupama Anjali and other officials were also present.
