Gameloft published a new Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap, and there’s quite a bit more coming to the life sim later in 2023. The first major update, “The Remembering,” lands sometime in early June 2023, and Gameloft said in the announcement that it’s the biggest story update since Dreamlight Valley first launched.
That’s about all Gameloft said, though the name would suggest some pretty significant plot developments tied to the Forgetting, that big moment of collective amnesia that sent the valley spiraling into darkness at the start of the game. You can also expect some new furnishings and decorating updates for the Touch of Magic customization system.
A second summer update will add a new villager, Wreck it Ralph’s Vanellope von Schweetz, and a new feature of some kind that lets you “flex your creativity” for a chance to win in-game prizes. There’s no word on what that feature is, though Gameloft said it was inspired by all the love players showed for photo mode and their unique creations.
September sees Belle from Beaty and the Beast make her home in the valley, with the usual accompaniments – quests, items, storylines, and the like. Summer’s Star Path includes items meant to celebrate Pixar, and the September Star Path is Darkness Returns, a Halloween-themed path with plenty of spooky items.
Gameloft has even more plans for 2023. Multiplayer is still on the table, along with new frontiers, more characters, another Royal Tool, and one more major story update. None of these have specific dates, so it’s possible some features may be delayed to 2024.
