Key workers are now able to get around Nottingham city centre at a reduced cost as a new pass program has been introduced. E-scooter subscription pass holders receive 90 rides of 15 minutes or shorter for £30 a month.
This aims to help key workers get to work and travel around the city in a clean and inexpensive way, the city's e-scooter operator Superpedestrian said. By comparison, the standard price for a 15-minute journey is £1.80.
Key workers are defined by the UK Government as people working in education and childcare, food and necessary goods, health and social care, key public services, National and Local Government, public safety and national security, transport, journalism in the public interest and utilities and communication.

Key workers who either live or work in the Nottingham City Council Administrative Boundary and have at least a provisional driving licence qualify for the discount pass. This aims to help workers who deserve "the most recognition".
Jean Andrews, Policy Director at Superpedestrian, said: "Key workers often work behind the scenes, but are the people who deserve the most recognition for the important jobs they do to keep Nottingham running. This new pass program will help key workers get to those essential jobs while also helping their monthly budget.”
If you are a key worker, live and work in Nottingham and have at least a provisional driving licence, you can sign up using this form for a Subscription Pass at a discounted price of £30 per month, including VAT, paid for by monthly direct debit. However you can ride the scooter for up to 15 minutes under the pass, and standard rates apply after reaching your monthly limit.
